8. Harry's New York Bar
Harry's Bar was born on November 26, 1911 on Thanksgiving Day. It was literally dismantled from the 7th avenue of Manhattan and reassembled on rue Daunou in Paris. It became much more than a superb mahogany bar already polished by hundreds of elbows across the Atlantic. It was a whole new kind: the Cocktail. Toad Sloan, the American jockey who moved this bar from New York, called on the best-known bartender Harry MacElhone who would resume a few years later to make this young New York bar, Harry’s Bar. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the legend was born.

"Harry's New York Bar in Paris caused a triple blackout!!! WHAT A GREAT TIME!!! We were headed to Moulin Rouge but it was sold out so we started our own bar hopping tour heading back to our place. Harry's was stop number 3 or 4 and once we tasted those drinks we stayed for a few more!"—AshleyMarie O.
"Sank Rue Danou is always a destination for me every time I'm in Paris. Stopped by in December of 2021 with my daughter, a new generation initiated. It looks like the place is under new management since we were last here. The menu has been updated and modernized with a new Harry's in Cannes.
