6. La Sagrada Família
The Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família is the most prominent example of Catalan Modernism and a symbol of Barcelona. It was dreamed up by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí and is an astounding architectural masterpiece, despite being unfinished and under construction for nearly 140 years. It has become one of the most visited monuments in Spain.
7. Mercat de la Boqueria
You haven't truly lived until you've been to Barcelona's most central fresh-produce market. It's an assault on the senses, in the best way possible. You'll be overwhelmed by the sights, smells, and sounds of the market, housed in a beautiful Modernista-influenced building.
