It keeps my core temp down so I can stay in the heat for 3 hours vs. 20 minutes with out it. The frozen stuff does not condense and wet the vest. It also stays frozen for as long as I am working with horses. It may last longer then 3 hours but I have not tried it. Keep it in the freezer when not using. Also, got the extra cooling green packs and they work great with the standard packs. Its not cheap but I have survived 110' heat without passing out or heat stroking. Also have friends that have used it and they are very surprised it stays cold so long. Ice cubes melt so fast but not this. Its worth the money if your outside and it recharges fast with cold water in a cooler with ice! -kalea
