“We stayed 4 nights and can't reccomend it enough. We were made to feel welcome and the staff were kind and helpful. Rooms were comfortable, cosy, clean and with a traditionally Japanese feel. The hot baths in the basement were such a treat after a long day walking in Kyoto. The lounge area overlooking the garden is a wonderful space to relax. The green tea ceremony and traditional Japanese breakfast are some of our most treasured memories of our time in Japan. Thank you Nishiyama Ryokan for making our stay so special!” — Michs
“We stayed with another couple for 1 night, but I wish we had more time to fully enjoy the stay at Nishiyama Ryokan. They treated us with care, paid detailed attention to our needs, and the rooms were super clean and the bathrooms were really nice. I also used the big bath downstairs and it was also clean and relaxing. I slept well in a nice futon. The food was first class and I think we ate everything. A big compliment to the chef and the server lady was super assertive and helpful. We were also amazed by the traditional tea ceremony performed and served by the second generation owners.
