“My sister and I spent one night at Ryokan Shimizu and we had the most wonderful experience! We wish we could have stayed longer! Everything is very well taken care of, the decoration is beautiful, the room is perfectly done. We took the bath, and pictures with the kimonos, it was great! “Lovely family ryokan located in a quiet street at 10 minutes walk from Kyoto Station. We were welcomed by a super friendly lady, who made us feel at home as soon as we entered. Our room was in the first level with lots of natural light. The room is a typical Japanese traditional with tatamis and futons. At night they brought us some warm tea which was perfect as it was still rather cold in January. On our check out we were gifted with 4 coasters and a polaroid. 100% recommended!!” — Diana M

“The stay here was fantastic. Every one was really nice and helpful! The hotel was very clean and the mats were comfortable. It felt as though you were staying at a family members house, but nicer. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. It is in a great location as well, super close to the train station. I would definitely stay here again!!” — Catrina
